Kiski Conemaugh Stream Team : Volunteer

Stream Team volunteers may collect water samples and field data from Abandoned Mine Discharges (AMD), AMD passive treatment systems, and rivers impacted by AMD, or they may assist with our environmental stewardship program.  Often, extra hands are needed to help us perform school and community programs.  With the help of staff, volunteers can teach students of all ages how to tie flies, cast a fishing line, collect macroinvertebrates, identify animals tracks, build a watershed, and much more!  Volunteers can also help with special events including the Paddle the Que event, fundraising, or office duties like mailings.  If you would like to learn more about becoming a Stream Teamer, please contact Melissa Reckner, Stream Team Director.

Fact: In 2009, 345 volunteers contributed over 3,660 hours of service to the Stream Team!
